At this time, insurance is ready to move Mike out of Pierremont. Neurologically, he is not showing enough activity to qualify him to be moved to a rehabilitative place. That means that the only option is a nursing home. This is not what the family wants because typically nursing homes do not really work with people in Mike's condition.
On a positive note, they took Mike's trach out today. Ericka did not expect this to happen and was surprised when she found out that it had already been removed and capped off. Kevin said that Mike was actually moaning some this afternoon AND when he coughed...it actually sounded like Mike. These are the first sounds that are reminiscent of Mike...the first sounds that the family has heard since before his accident. He is still in a coma. Please continue to pray that something will happen....this is a critical time in determining the next step in Mike's care.
Who is Mike Carter?
